A History of the Puerto Rican Day Parades in Connecticut
Graduate student, Jhinia Garcia, and Professor Charles R. Venator-Santiago recently completed a mobile gallery on the history of the Puerto Rican Day Parades in Connecticut. This gallery consists of a series of panels/posters, a short video collecting oral histories of key leaders of the Puerto Rican Day Parades in Connecticut, and a detailed report. The exhibit will be available at the New Britain Museum of American Art and is available to share with schools, museums, libraries and other public spaces. This is part of a series of community education projects sponsored by the UConn Puerto Rican Studies Initiative. For more information, please contact charles.venator@uconn.edu.
